SET TO KICK OFF FIRST AUSTRALIAN TOUR THIS WEEK
PERFORMING WITH ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN AND LANEWAY FESTIVAL  

New York-based BLACK GOLD continue to support their debut album RUSH, which was hailed by SPIN as "breathlessly experimental" with “sweeping orchestral rock” and received additional praise from People, URB.COM, MetroMix, Big Shot and more. “Shine” is the latest single from the album and impacts Hot AC and AAA radio this week.

“Shine” will also appear in next month’s star-studded romantic comedy Valentine’s Day and will be on the soundtrack out February 9 on Watertower Music/Big Machine Records. The soundtrack also features Taylor Swift, Jewel, Maroon 5, Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Willie Nelson and more.

The video for the glistening track about faith and love was directed by Josh Forbes (The Fray, Sara Bareilles, Cold War Kids, Sea Wolf). “Shine” was shot in the desert of California this past December and will premiere Tuesday, February 2 on AOL Music.

On the road non-stop in support of RUSH, BLACK GOLD has made high-profile appearances at All Points West and SXSW and shared the stage with the likes of The Pixies, Neko Case, the Scissor Sisters, The Hold Steady, and Panic at the Disco. Led by ERIC RONICK (lead vocal/keyboards) and THAN LUU (drums/vocals) and rounded out with touring members Kerry Wayne James on bass and Alistair Paxton on guitar, the band has announced their first U.S. tour of 2010. Their tour supporting Sherwood kicks off Wednesday, February 17 at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles and wraps Wednesday, March 17 at New York City’s Highline Ballroom. 

BLACK GOLD will also kick off their first Australian tour this week, playing with Echo & The Bunnymen--as an opener on their headline dates--and as part of the multi-city St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, featuring leading new and revered seminal music artists.
