“It’s clear that the group knows that a great show is more than just the music at this point. So between [the] energy, incorporating the mapping on the rocks and the stage show, Big Gigantic’s inaugural headlining date at the Rocks made for one of the most magical experiences at the venue this summer.” —Britt Chester, Westword (10-1-12)
BIG GIGANTIC definitely lived up to their name this past weekend. The Boulder, CO-based electronic act played their biggest, most gigantic hometown headlining show of their career on Saturday, September 29 when the duo of saxophonist/producer DOMINIC LALLI and drummer JEREMY SALKEN turned the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre into “Rowdytown” and performed to a sold-out crowd of over 9,450 fans.
Adding to the experience, BIG GIGANTIC also became the first band ever to use projection mapping on the Rocks. As noted by Nate Etter of the Denver Post (10-1-12), “When Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken finally took to the stage over Daft Punk’s ‘Robot Rock’ in their trademark all white attire, the amphitheater transformed into a frenzy of color and sound arguably unmatched for a previous Red Rocks performance.” To see just what the show looked like, check out this video recap: http://vimeo.com/50638399

Next up, BIG GIGANTIC will bring their breakthrough sound of DJ-based music with live instruments to over 45 cities throughout North America. The “Uprising Tour” kicks off tonight, Wednesday, October 3, in Tempe, AZ before stopping at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA on Friday, October 5 and then making its way all across the country stopping in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Des Moines, Tulsa, Little Rock, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Toronto, Raleigh, New Orleans, Nashville, Minneapolis and Charlotte among many others before wrapping December 1 in Athens, GA. Supporting BIG GIGANTIC will be GRiZ from October 3-November 4 with Adventure Club on select dates, Crizzly from November 5-17 and Ana Sia from November 21-December 1 unless otherwise noted. See below for full list of tour dates.
Chosen by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Must-See Acts at Bonnaroo 2012,” BIG GIGANTIC made the rounds this summer on the U.S. festival circuit to rave reviews. The duo performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Wakarusa, Hangout, Electric Forest, Camp Bisco, Governor’s Ball and All Good Music Festival and are still set to appear at Austin City Limits on Saturday, October 13 (set time: 5:00-6:00pm on the Honda Stage) and the SnowGlobe Music Festival this December along with performances in early 2013 on both Holy Ship! and Jam Cruise, marking the first band to play both cruises. Formed in 2008, the classically trained Lalli (who received a master’s degree in jazz at the Manhattan School of Music) and Salken interpret traditional DJ-based music with live instruments and have successfully created an innovative, distinct sound that’s all their own. The duo leaves no genre off-limits as they channel everything from funk and dubstep to house and hip-hop. Their latest album, NOCTURNAL, released earlier this year via their own label Big Gigantic Records, is currently available as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net. Featuring new original songs like “Nocturnal” and “Hopscotch,” the album has received over 175,000 downloads to date. BIG GIGANTIC has also recently released new free remixes of Savoy’s “We Are The Sun” and Adventure Club’s “Do I See Color.”
