SONG APPEARS ON DATSIK’S DEBUT ARTIST ALBUM ‘VITAMIN D’ DUE OUT
APRIL 10 ON DIM MAK RECORDS
Known for his hip-hop, future-tech bangers, dubstep trailblazer DATSIK takes a different turn with “Evilution,” his new single with Infected Mushroom out now exclusively on iTunes with release at all other retailers March 13. The track and corresponding video, which made its debut yesterday on RollingStone.com (http://www.rollingstone.com/videos/new-and-hot/datsik-evilution-20120228), features special guest Jonathan Davis of KORN. It is also now posted at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw-xoMGqDEQ
“Evilution” is the second single off VITAMIN D, DATSIK’s debut artist album for Dim Mak Records due out April 10. It was built from another Jonathan Davis collaboration (DATSIK has several production credits on KORN’s latest album, The Path of Totality), this time with Israeli psy-trance duo Infected Mushroom. Collaborating after a chance meeting backstage at New York’s massive Electric Zoo festival last summer, the pair brought their wildly disparate sounds together as one. “Blending dubstep with psy-trance and Jonathan Davis sounds kind of insane,” DATSIK says, “but the track came out great and I’m stoked on it.”
Prior to releasing VITAMIN D, DATSIK continues to cross North America as co-headliner with Steve Aoki on their ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK PRESENTS DIM MAK’S DEADMEAT TOUR 2012 powered by SOL REPUBLIC. Following its completion on March 14 in Sacramento, DATSIK will travel to Las Vegas for his first ever play in Sin City at Surrender March 16 and then return to Miami where he’ll once again perform at this year’s Ultra Music Festival Saturday, March 24 at Bayfront Park. DATSIK will also appear at Coachella in Southern California April 13 and 20.

About DATSIK:
Hailing from Kelowna, Canada, DATSIK (Troy Beetles) has been taking the dubstep scene by storm, blowing up dance floors around the globe with his original style of hip-hop, future-tech bangers. In 2009 alone, DATSIK had over seven #1 releases on Beatport and vinyl sales went through the roof on many other sites such as Chemical Records, Red-Eye and Juno. Aside from that, he has also done remixes for some of the biggest names in the scene such as The Crystal Method, Freestylers, Bassnectar, Noisia, Diplo, Wu-Tang Clan and Apex, not to mention countless collaborations with some of the hottest producers in the scene. In 2011, DATSIK was one of the featured artists on the inaugural IDentity Tour, the first-ever touring electronic-ONLY music festival that visited major outdoor amphitheatres throughout North America, and supported KORN on their “Path Of Totality” tour as well as produced selections on their hard rock-and-dubstep-fusing The Path Of Totality album. In addition, he was also one of the headlining dubstep acts at this year’s Stereosonic festival in Australia. With multiple anthems under his belt, countless plays from some of the biggest DJs and an endless perseverance to reach that next step, it’s safe to say that DATSIK has proven himself to be one of the best dubstep artists around. His highly anticipated debut album VITAMIN D will feature his freshest instrumentals and collaborations with the likes of Jonathan Davis of KORN, Infected Mushroom and Z-Trip. The album’s first offering “Fully Blown,” with fellow Canadian artist, rapper Snak The Ripper, is out now.
