“Domo” in Japanese is a greeting meaning something along the lines of “Well, hello there!” It’s also the title of the new song from Dim Mak recording artist FELIX CARTAL who today celebrates the release of remixes by Étienne de Crécy and Pierce Fulton via Beatport and iTunes. “DOMO” is the second single, following “Don’t Turn On The Lights,” off of FELIX CARTAL’s album DIFFERENT FACES out March 27 on Dim Mak.
Featuring illustration by London-based illustrator Dan Stafford, the general idea for the “DOMO” video was to produce something that really worked with the huge drops and blistering pace of the track. “When Felix and I were talking about what to do for the video we had loads of really complicated ideas about Japan, 90’s club culture and making a short anime cartoon, but we quickly boiled the idea down to a simple visualization of the track with a theme of moving from sense to complete nonsense,” says Stafford. “It all came together as a journey from a hoop-jumping-rat-race to a frenetic weekend mess, all slathered in J-pop color. DOMO!”
