ANNOUNCE FINAL SHOWS OF 2011:
PHILADELPHIA AND BOSTON CONFIRMED
The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have announced six final shows for 2011, with two nights scheduled in Upper Darby (Philadelphia), PA at the Tower Theatre November 25 + 26 and four nights in Boston at the Orpheum Theatre November 29 + 30 and December 2 + 3. Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday, September 30 at 10:00AM Eastern.
These mark the last of only 22 shows in 2011 for the band–GREGG ALLMAN (vocals and keyboards), BUTCH TRUCKS (drums and tympani), JAIMOE (drums), WARREN HAYNES (vocals, lead and slide guitar), DEREK TRUCKS (slide and lead guitar), OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (congas and percussion)–as group members focused on their other projects. This year, GREGG ALLMAN released LOW COUNTRY BLUES, WARREN HAYNES’ band released MAN IN MOTION and DEREK TRUCKS and his wife SUSAN TEDESCHI’s group THE TEDESCHI TRUCKS BAND released their first album, REVELATOR.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees have performed 16 shows so far in 2011, including their highly acclaimed annual residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre and headlining their own three-day Wanee Festival in Florida, which included Widespread Panic, the Steve Miller band and Robert Plant, among many others. They also performed a special one-off show at the Beacon in July to raise awareness for Hepatitis C, as Gregg Allman received a liver transplant late last year.
