British producer, DJ and pop star CALVIN HARRIS was the most successful songwriter in the U.K. last year, according to trade magazine Music Week from a recent post on BBC’s news site. Leading the charge were his major smashes “We Found Love” for Rihanna and his own productions “Bounce” with Kelis and “Feel So Close.” Out now in North America via Ultra Music, “Feel So Close” is still on the rise at radio and on the charts while HARRIS invades America with several high-profile shows this spring.
Over 469,000 downloads of “Feel So Close” have been sold to date, recently averaging 109,000+ per week. It’s charting at #13 on iTunes and on Billboard’s Hot 100 at #18 and Pop Songs at #15. The boost is propelled by its video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkzsaPM5Pp4&ob) which is now in rotation on MTV, MTV Hits, mtvU, FUSE and Teen Nick. The video has had over 50 million views on YouTube worldwide. At radio, the track is building at Top 40 and Rhythm formats (over 61 million in total audience) with major play on such stations as Z100, WKTU and WXRK in NY, KISS and AMP in LA, B96 and WKSC Chicago, along with many more.
This spring, HARRIS returned to North America for a live set in Chicago and multiple appearances in Miami during Miami Music Week including Swedish House Mafia’s Masquerade Motel. Next up are featured slots at Coachella. At these dates, fans can experience HARRIS’ live presentation that has evolved into a one–man electronic performance encompassing both DJ set and on-the-spot production highlighting his productions and favorite tracks.
