LIGHTS UP
JULY 18;
SINGER, SONGWRITER AND MUSICIAN
LAUNCHES CROSS-COUNTRY TOUR
MAY 12 IN ADVANCE OF DEBUT ALBUM’S RELEASE
GRAN BEL FISHER
has launched a cross-country tour in advance of the release of his debut album FULL
MOON CIGARETTE. The singer,
songwriter and musician is touring the U.S. with Brandi Carlile for the majority
of these dates.
Having
kicked off in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre May 12, the 29-date trek will
include performances in New York, Chicago and Nashville.
Additionally, GRAN BEL will make a few special appearances along the way,
including stops at the acclaimed Bonnaroo Music Festival and this year’s
Sierra Music Festival.
Due
out July 18, FULL MOON CIGARETTE (Hollywood Records) was produced by Dave
Bassett; it was recorded in Los Angeles and mixed in New York with Michael
Brauer (Coldplay, My Morning Jacket). Throughout
the album, GRAN BEL movingly gets inside his imagery-rich songs like “Crash
and Burn,” “Edible,” and “Do We Say Bye.”
Amid the rock/folk/pop settings, the Ohio-born, Los Angeles-based
singer, songwriter and musician illuminates his impressions of life, love and
death with a distinctive baritone voice.
“I
started thinking about how I see everything: life, love and death and those
themes embody this entire album,” GRAN BEL FISHER says. “The songs are inspired by my everyday realizations of
life.” GRAN BEL's perspective
emerged from...well, let him fill in the details....
“The
Littleton Funeral Home has been in my family since 1905,” he explains. “Our
attitude was that it was a very normal occupation. Working there gave me a
different perspective on things: I
realized early on that everyone has the same reaction to death. Ultimately, I think working there made me more sensitive to
life.”
The
complete FULL
MOON CIGARETTE
track listing is as follows: “Full
Moon Cigarette,” “Far Cry,” “Edible,” “Moment,” “Crash and
Burn,” “Dazey Day,” “Do We Say Bye,” “Blow Your Mind,” “Bound By
Love,” “Baby Boy” and “Change.”
