RICH
ROBINSON
ANNOUNCES SOLO TOUR DATES WITH STOPS IN NEW YORK & LOS ANGELES
Guitarist, singer, songwriter—and
now frontman—RICH ROBINSON will debut new material on a handful
of dates later this month with stops in New York and Los Angeles.
ROBINSON’s three-piece backing band includes drummer Bill Dobrow, who
played with ROBINSON in Hookah Brown, which RICH formed after the Black Crowes
parted ways in 2002.
ROBINSON’s solo material ranges from
stripped-down and soulful songs like “Hold You” and “On My Way,” to the
rhythmic powerhouse “Know Me,” to the sprawling, psychedelic-tinged
“Forgiven Song.” All of these
songs highlight RICH’s distinguished guitar tones and textures.
The new music underlines RICH’s
transformation from acclaimed guitarist-songwriter of the Black Crowes--a band
that kick-started rock in the ‘90s and went on to sell 15 million albums--to
solo artist with his own lyrical point of view.
“I’ve always been a songwriter,” he says.
“But these songs show where I’m at as a musician, and as a person.
They’re evolving, like I am.”
For the Friday, January 16 New York
show at the Knitting Factory, ROBINSON and his band will be joined by a
four-piece string section.

dates and online at www.richrobinson.net.
