ALANIS
MORISSETTE will be in New York City
next week visiting Conan O’Brien (Tuesday, June 22), Good Morning
America (Wednesday, June 23) and The View (airing Friday, June 25).
The seven-time Grammy winner will perform a song from her newly released album SO-CALLED
CHAOS (Maverick Records) on all of the
shows, plus a second song scheduled for both Good Morning America and The
View: “Let's Do It (Let's Fall In
Love).” ALANIS sings--and dances to--this
Cole Porter standard in the forthcoming film “DE-LOVELY” about the
composer’s life. Expect ALANIS, who also appears on the movie’s soundtrack,
to attend the “DE-LOVELY” premiere in New York City Monday, June 21.
SO-CALLED
CHAOS--released
May 18--has already sold over one million copies worldwide and produced a hit
with its first single “Everything,” where it was #1 for six weeks on Radio
& Records’ AAA chart
and is now at #4 on Radio
& Records’ Hot AC
chart. The album had 11 Top
5 debuts in 11 countries, including the U.S., and is already Gold in seven
countries. SO-CALLED CHAOS
features 10 new songs written by ALANIS that set her free-flowing vocals,
luminescent melodies and fervent introspection in a seamless mix of rock, pop,
folk, electronic and Eastern stylings.
Edna Gundersen observed in USA TODAY (5/18/04): “‘So-Called
Chaos’ is a work of musical and lyrical maturity, yet the Canadian
songwriter has never sounded more playful and less burdened."
Immediately
following ALANIS’ New York City activity, she will head overseas to tour
throughout the U.K. and Europe. ALANIS will then return to North America to
co-headline the “AU NATURALE” summer tour with Barenaked Ladies,
launching July 13 in Cleveland. The 24-date trek includes two New York-area
shows (July 16 at Jones Beach Amphitheatre and July 17 at PNC Bank Arts Center)
and two nights at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles (July 29-30).
