WIDE-RANGING SET LISTS AND RAVE REVIEWS MARK DAVID BOWIE'S 2002 TOUR WHICH TOUCHES DOWN IN NORTH AMERICA JULY 28 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Wide-ranging set lists full of surprises and rave reviews mark DAVID BOWIE's overseas 2002 tour, which rolls into North America July 28 when the Area2 tour with Moby gets underway in Washington D.C.

Alternating some 50 songs, BOWIE is reaching deep into his songbook while at the same time performing tunes from the critically acclaimed HEATHEN, which just entered the Australian album chart at #9. BOWIE has now amassed a total of 15 Top 15 chart debuts around the world for HEATHEN, including the U.S.

In the past two weeks, BOWIE's changing set lists have included such gems as "Space Oddity," "Life On Mars?" "Ziggy Stardust," "Starman," "Changes," ""Fame," "Stay," "Warszawa," "Speed of Life," "A New Career In A New Town," "Fashion," "Heroes," "Sound and Vision," "Ashes To Ashes," "Let's Dance," "China Girl," "Hallo Spaceboy" and "I'm Afraid of Americans."

HEATHEN songs appearing on the set list have included "Cactus" (BOWIE's cover of the Pixies song), the soaringly melodic "Everyone Says Hi," the expansive "Slip Away," moody tracks like "Heathen (The Rays)" and "Sunday," plus the beat-driven panorama "I Took A Trip On A Gemini Spaceship" and the mysterious "5:15 The Angels Have Gone."

Reviews of BOWIE's overseas shows which include many huge outdoor festivals have been sensational across the board, with such banner headlines as: "A Glorious Reign" (Manchester Evening News, England), "Bowie Brilliant!" (NME, England), "One of The Best Rock Stars On Earth, Rock Icon Defies Time and Weather" (Cologne Public, Germany) and "Bowie Electrifies Olympia" (Le Parisien, France).

Here's a sample review that ran July 12 in Manchester's Daily Star, based on his performance at the Move festival: "The sun came out for David Bowie's performance at the first ever Move festival - and he responded with a sparkling gig in Manchester to go with the rare sunbeams...Even after more than 30 years in the business, the hits were pitch perfect, from the anthemic Starman to funky versions of China Girl and Let's Dance...Bowie rounded off the show with one of the most famous tracks in history, Ziggy Stardust. And the crowd went wild. If Bowie ever gets bored with belting it out after all these years in the business, he certainly hides it well."
