 ART GARFUNKEL

SET TO PERFORM ON ‘CBS EARLY SHOW’

            ART GARFUNKEL is set to perform selections from his new album EVERYTHING WAITS TO BE NOTICED on CBS-TV’s “Early Show” Saturday, June 21 with special guests Maia Sharp and Buddy Mondlock. The live performance will be part of the program’s “On The Plaza” summer concert series.  Currently, the track “How Did You Know” is impacting stations across the country at AAA radio.

In other news, ART GARFUNKEL with Maia Sharp and Buddy Mondlock will headline the annual WXPN Singer Songwriter Festival July 19^th and 20^th at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA. The festival is WXPN radio’s largest annual fundraiser.

            GARFUNKEL is currently on the road for a series of solo shows and trio performances in support of EVERYTHING WAITS TO BE NOTICED (Manhattan Records).  The new album marks GARFUNKEL’s debut as a songwriter, as he collaborated with Sharp and Mondlock on songs inspired by “Still Water,” his 1987 book of prose poetry. 

Describing his live performance, GARFUNKEL told the Grand Rapids Press in a Sunday June 8, 2003 profile: "I'm contemplative and I'm my philosopher father's son, but at showtime, I take the leap of faith (and risk) being beautiful as a singer, which is a tricky thing for a man to do. I step out of my skin and I'm not the me I know, the prosaic one. I'm this other guy."
