MP3.COM & BEST BUY-SPONSORED TOUR KICKING OFF AUGUST 18
WILL FEATURE FULL-LENGTH SETS BY BOTH ARTISTS

ALANIS MORISSETTE and TORI AMOS fans will soon be able to log onto an official website which has been established for them to pre-order concert tickets via Ticketmaster Online, hear music and get tour updates for the upcoming MP3.COM and Best Buy-sponsored "5 1/2 Weeks Tour." The exclusive site--alanisandtori.mp3.com--will be unveiled on Friday, May 21 and will enable fans to order tickets before they are made available to the general public. The "5 1/2 Weeks Tour"--featuring each artist doing full-length sets with their regular stage production--begins August 18 in Ft. Lauderdale and will hit 26 cities before concluding September 25 in Los Angeles.

As part of each artist's desire to deepen their relationship with their fans, they can stream exclusive, unreleased ALANIS and TORI music, see tour snapshots, read tour diaries and register to win tour memorabilia. On May 21, fans will be able to hear two previously unavailable songs: a live version of ALANIS' "Are You Still Mad" and the rare TORI song "Honey," previously unreleased in the U.S. The "5 1/2 Weeks Tour" marks the first time established artists have aligned themselves with a major player in the exploding online music community.

At a press conference held recently in Los Angeles, the two artists' managers (Scott Welch at Atlas/Third Rail for ALANIS, Arthur Spivak of Spivak Ent. for TORI), their booking agent (CAA's Rob Light), MP3.COM and Best Buy announced the unprecedented alliance. MP3.COM CEO Michael Robertson said, "The potential here is enormous and we've got to seize this opportunity. But the burden's on us to illustrate that this is a good thing for fans, it's a good thing for artists, it's a good thing for CD sales and it's a good thing for the concert ticket sales. We think the best thing to do is have everyone contribute to the site, so the artists can have creative control." Scott Welch noted, "All of us are in uncharted territory. We're all trying to find ways to improve the relationships artists have with their fans."

Opening acts for each city on the "5 1/2 Weeks Tour" will be chosen by ALANIS and TORI from artists on the MP3.COM website.
