THE VANDALS TEAM UP WITH LOS ANGELES INDEPENDENT KUNG FU RECORDS TO RELEASE ENHANCED CD 'INTERNET DATING SUPER-STUDS' SEPTEMBER 17; BAND TO LAUNCH RELEASE AS A HEADLINER ON "KUNG FU RECORDS TOUR '02"

THE VANDALS--one of punk rock's most dominant and everlasting forces--will release their new CD INTERNET DATING SUPER-STUDS September 17 on Los Angeles-based independent label Kung Fu Records. In connection with the enhanced CD, the band has created a special Internet promotion. They've formed their own online dating service at www.internetdatingsuperstuds.com, sort of a cross between Blind Date and Blair Witch Project, according to bassist JOE ESCALANTE. "We came up with this Internet dating scheme as a way to have fun, while trying to stir up some interest in our album," he explains. "Now that we're finished with the album, I'm thinking it doesn't need some wack scheme to get the word out. But we're doing it anyway, because we have no dignity!" Fans personal profiles on the site will be voted on by other fans and the winners will go on a date with a band member. Actual footage from the date will then be available on the enhanced CD. INTERNET DATING SUPER-STUDS--the band's first album for Kung Fu Records--was produced by THE VANDALS' guitarist and chief songwriter WARREN FITZGERALD and Ryan Williams (Rage Against The Machine, Quarashi). Hailing from Redondo Beach, California, the punk foursome mixes infectious stop-start rhythms with lyrics that are both introspective and wry. The disc is filled with 14 new tracks that capture the group's signature sound of fast-paced, fun punk-rock with such songs as "Disproportionate Head," "The Unseen Tears Of The Albacore," "Little Weirdo," "Soccer Mom" and the first single "43210-1." THE VANDALSÑJOE ESCALANTE (bass), WARREN FITZGERALD (guitar), JOSH FREESE (drums) and DAVE QUACKENBUSH (vocals)--have a firm grip on the underground, having already sold more than 400,000 records. Their previous three releases on Nitro Records--The Quickening, Hitler Bad: Vandals Good and Look What I Almost Stepped In--each sold over 100,000 copies. Now enjoying the greatest success of their long career, THE VANDALS are the perfect example of a band getting better and selling more and more records long after most of their peers have disbanded. Look for THE VANDALS to headline a five-week trek on the Kung Fu Records tour this fall (dates TBA). For up-to-date information on THE VANDALS check out www.KungFuRecords.com
