“We’re just really happy and honored to be a part of this great event for such a great cause. To tell you the truth, I don’t get around humans too often so to do something like this and bowl next to our heroes in Face To Face, it really doesn’t get much better.” – Justin Pierre, Motion City Soundtrack

About The T.J. Martell Foundation: The T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS Research was founded in 1975. In its 35 years, the Foundation has provided over $240 million to support innovative medical research in fighting these diseases. We encourage our scientists to leverage our funds with other larger funding sources, such as the National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute. This has been done successfully by many of our researchers and we can conservatively estimate that our funding has resulted in more than $1 billion in additional research funding. The foundation has contributed to many major research breakthroughs, such as funding the research which helped design and create the “chemo-therapeutic cocktail” which is now the worldwide standard for treating breast cancer; the “Gold Standard” of care for treating refractory prostate cancer was developed by a T.J. Martell Foundation funded researcher. In addition, neuroblastoma, a deadly form of cancer attacking young children, had a survival rate of less than 20%. For 10 years, the T.J. Martell Foundation has supported research in this field and now the cure rate is 80%.
