ALANIS MORISSETTE LAUNCHES
‘JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC TOUR’
AMID A WHIRLWIND OF ACTIVITY AND TELEVISION APPEARANCES INCLUDING ABC-TV’S “20/20” THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, JUNE 10
After launching her “JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC TOUR” June 7 in Toronto, ALANIS MORISSETTE is set to release her JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC album Monday, June 13 amid a whirlwind of high-profile television appearances.
Having just been inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame at a June 5 Toronto ceremony that also honored producer Daniel Lanois and actor Kiefer Sutherland, ALANIS will sing the National Anthem live in San Antonio at Game 1 of the NBA Finals (Thursday, June 9 on ABC-TV, 9:00pm ET), her first televised performance of the anthem since becoming an American citizen earlier this year. Next, ALANIS talks with Elizabeth Vargas for a major profile airing Friday, June 10 on ABC-TV’s “20/20” (10:00pm to 11:00pm ET/PT).
ALANIS will mark Monday, June 13–the ten year anniversary date of the original release of her landmark, 30 million-selling JAGGED LITTLE PILL album–with an acoustic performance on ABC-TV’s ”Good Morning America” (7:00am to 9:00am ET/PT). She will perform material from JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC, a new acoustic studio version of the seven-time Grammy Award winner’s groundbreaking 1995 release. For the new disc, she and co-creator Glen Ballard utilized an eclectic group of acoustic instruments–from perapaloshka to marzophone, cajon to maraca, pump organ to pianoforte–and reworked many of the original song’s harmonies and melodies.
Two days later, on Wednesday, June 15, ALANIS will perform on CBS-TV’s “Late Show with David Letterman” (11:30pm-to-12:30am ET/PT), the same day she headlines a concert at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall.
In a unique agreement between Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) Hear Music and Maverick Records, JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC will be sold exclusively in Starbucks Company-operated stores in North America and viawww.starbucks.com/hearmusic beginning June 13, 2005 throughout the six weeks of her 27-date “Live @ VH1.Com Presents” acoustic tour, after which it will also be sold at traditional retail outlets, starting July 26.
Fans can expect the “JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC TOUR” to feature the music of JAGGED LITTLE PILL ACOUSTIC, plus other highlights from ALANIS’ career, as chosen by fans on her website.
