ARTDONTSLEEP PRESENTS ‘FROM LA WITH LOVE’

Milan Records has announced the release of ARTDONTSLEEP PRESENTS FROM LA WITH LOVE on June 5.  Producer/promoter Andrew Lojero worked closely with 16 different LA-based musicians including Flying Lotus, Nobody, Madlib, Nathan Yell (Aloe Blacc), Adventure Time (Daedelus), the late DJ Dusk, The Gaslamp Killer, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Computer Jay and more to collect new unreleased material from each of them, with each track reflecting the true nature of the Los Angeles underground music scene. For each song selected, Lojero then worked with local visual artists to develop a piece of art that was inspired by each song that will be featured in the CD booklet.

This CD is not a compilation but a collection of LA’s finest artists.  Many have achieved their own success and recognition, but ArtDontSleep Presents From LA with Love is the first time this expansive variety of visionaries have been brought together in one package. It is rare that movements come along that are as prolific as what is occurring in Los Angeles today. From Greenwich Village and San Francisco in the 60s, to the blues movement of Chicago, to the country movement of Nashville, each era marked a change in music and a change in the arts overall. The new movement now resides in The City of Angels.

Andrew Lojero has built a worldwide reputation over the years by producing underground parties and being closely dialed in with the most cutting-edge, creative people. Through his events in locations ranging from downtown LA lofts and warehouses, to rooftops and beneath bridges, he has created a network of DJs, musicians and music fans that are hungry to discover and participate in alternative music and culture. With no sponsors and no corporate involvement, Lojero’s undisclosed events attracted up to 2,000 people a night.
