“The Night Is Young Tour” launches February 12 in Sioux Falls, SD featuring support from Manic Focus and Gladiator (on select dates), with more support acts to be announced. Encompassing almost 20 dates, the run will include stops in such markets as Madison, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Boston, Washington, DC, Orlando, Tallahassee, Aspen and more. At each date, fans will be privy to a blazing set from BIG GIGANTIC’s Dominic Lalli (saxophone/producer) and Jeremy Salken (drums) featuring material from The Night is Young as well as from their previous album NOCTURNAL along with live renditions of their remixes like the current favorite of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us.”
“Touch The Sky,” the first official single from The Night is Young, made its debut last week (listen here: https://soundcloud.com/biggigantic/touch-the-sky) and has already received a tremendous response in the blogosphere:
“Remaining a live set exclusive from the Colorado duo for quite some time, Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken, better known as Big Gigantic, have finally let loose their original mix, ‘Touch The Sky.’ Featuring a signature vocal chop from the midtempo pair, the live drum work and saxophone melodies clash beautifully with rough yet spacey synths. Holding back, the live instrumental work gives way to heavier electronic-focused energy as the song comes to a close. However, Dom and Jeremy step in to display their incredible musicianship as the instrumental work is once again isolated to bring the listener to an electrojazz abyss through the final minute of the song.”
–Eric Zwilling, DANCING ASTRONAUT (12/11/13)
“It blends some raging electro and trap stylings fused with that funky jazzy unique edge from Big G, saxophone and all. The unique vocal sampling that Dom has really perfected always stands out as a favorite part throughout most Big G productions.”
– Nick Guarino, THIS SONG IS SICK (12/11/13)
“’Touch The Sky’ is the explosive new single from Big Gigantic. The genre-blending track teeters toward the electro side but features an ample amount of bass and just a dash of hardstyle with a jazzy sax tones to get you grooving.”
–Laryssa Loza, VIBE.COM (12/16/13)
“Dominic Lalli comes correct once again with a sax filled blaster set to shoot you ‘sky high.’ Live, this track is certainly going to be a show-stopper, with drummer Jeremy Salken laying his sticks on the skins. Keep an eye out for the act’s next album sometime in the new year, and until then, leave this on repeat until the joint burns out.”
–Britt Chester, WESTWORD (12/16/13)
“The single sounds noticeably different than their usual mix, fusing piercing trap elements with spacier feel in addition to the beloved segments of Dominic Lalli sax and booming dubstep bass slams. Could this be our new holiday electro-anthem?”
– Alex Faubel, 303 MAGAZINE (12/10/13)
“Big Gigantic is back for the Holiday season with some sexy sax music to rage out to.”
–Dave, EARGRUB (12/10/13)
“If this one’s a look at what’s to come, then we’re on for a full-length packed with genre-bending jams. From big room bass drops to jazzy sax interludes, there’s no shortage of surprises, especially the double time hardstyle breakdown around three minutes.”
–Cam MacNeil, EARMILK (12/10/13)
“‘Touch The Sky’ is a fireball of a track, mixing saxophone with dubstep and even adding a bit of trap. The record is an absolute smash, and is a great first offering from the upcoming album, due out February 2014.”
–Kwaku Farrar, JOONBUG (12/10/13)
“”Touch the Sky” is heavy, hard-hitting, and hype–ready to blow the roof off…”
– Anand Harsh, THE UNTZ (12/10/13)
“A massive tune would be an understatement as the high-flying duo incorporate huge 808 trap sounds and futuristic dub synths, accompanied by the sexily inserted sax sounds, of course. One may think it might be horrific to mix trap and jazz-fueled tunes, but this honestly a love child between them. On its way to becoming a classic already, you need to check this out ASAP.”
–Saurabh Hope, THE BANGIN BEATS (12/11/13)
“…they’re back with jamming saxophone tunes and perfect mix of synths to make a jam-packed electronic song.”
–Kyle Fraizer, BASS TO YOUR FACE, (12/11/13)
“Dominic and Jeremy combined dubstep and electro elements with a touch of trap flavor that within seconds you can tell will quickly become a Big Gigantic classic. Dominic cranks out solid saxophone solo played with finesse as Jeremy gradually builds the tempo on drums. The second drop of this song brings the heat and almost forces you to stomp your feet and shake your booty creating an impressive first release from this album.”
–Amelia, THE DANKLES (12/11/13)
“Everybody get limber and stretch out all those unused muscles, Big Gigantic is back big time with their new single Touch The Sky. We can promise every bone in your body will be moving in pure jazzy bliss.”
–Malachi Belluscio, DANCE MUSIC NORTHWEST, (12/11/13)
“Big Gigantic has certainly made a name for themselves in the ever-growing electronic dance music community. Known for their unique style and use of live instruments, this American duo certainly incorporates all aspects of music in their productions…‘Touch The Sky’ is able to blend some hard electro style infused beats with jazzy sounds that Big Gigantic has become known for.”
–Daniel Lampert, ELITE DAILY (12/11/2013)
““Touch The Sky” is a kaleidoscopic showcase of the duo’s ever-vacillating sound: intensely electro-infused yet driven by sultry sax solos and rumbling percussion undertones. Teeming with heavily synthesized progressions and pitchy vocal samples exclaiming “touch the sky,” the track suggests excitingly boundless possibilities for the duo’s forthcoming album.”
–Jamie Sloane, DJZ (12/11/13)
“Big Gigantic’s got a crazy new tune out, packed full of jazzy sounds from their signature saxophone-electro meld.”
–ELECTROCRATES, (12/11/13)
“‘Touch the Sky’ takes the known and loved Big G sound and adds some nasty trap elements throughout.”
– Louis, THE FRONTLINER (12/11/13)
“…this track takes you on a trap and dubstep infused musical journey.”
–Matthew Grimalda, MIX JUNKIES (12/11/13)
“Another example of multi-genre fusion, ‘Touch The Sky’ finds itself in the realms of Dubstep, Trap, Electro, and, of course, some saxophone-laced jazz, making for a high-octane dynamo that really requires a few full listens to fully appreciate the complexity in production.”
–Jonah, NEST HQ (12/11/13)
“Touch the Sky” is the result of a skilled infusion of musical flavors. The tediously long genre we have given the track in the title of this post does not even do the song justice when defining what it sounds like. It’s trap, electro-soul, jazz, dubstep and future bass all rolled into a jam that is truly indicative of the talent possessed by Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken of Big G.”
–Jake Groch, RAGER ONIONS, (12/11/13)
“’Touch The Sky’ contains classic Big G. elements, like sax solos and drum detail, but throws in a surprising Hardstyle drop after the second build up. It’s great to see long running acts like Big Gigantic include new genres in their sound. Keep it up Dominic and Jeremy.“
–Chad Downs, WHITE RAVER RAFTING (12/11/13)
”Delivering to the maximum end of our expectations for their future work, Big Gigantic keeps us on the edge of our seats with this flavorful original release.”
–Anna Wasilewska, WOMP WORTHY, (12/11/13)
“The boys impressively combine a trap styled rhythm with their signature jazzy sax tones for a sound that is incredibly unique! That’s not all however, the saxophone begins to speed up and the track transitions into a high-energized hardstyle drop that’ll have you bouncing right to the sky!”
–DIGI 10VE (12/12/213)
“It’s a biggie and after about 3 minutes you are reminded just how big and gigantic they really are with muscle-synths and fat bass lines to match. The use of saxophone in the track sets it apart form the rest and makes a little bit special.”
–Elizabeth Mary Ward, HIT THE FLOOR, (12/12/13)
“Dominic Lalli’s use of the saxophone is always a constant pleasure to the ear, but on this new Big Gigantic single, the sax is certainly the crème brûlée.”
–Richardine Bartee, GRUNGE CAKE (12/13/13)

About BIG GIGANTIC:
Formed in 2008, saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli (classically trained with a master’s degree in jazz from the Manhattan School of Music) and drummer Jeremy Salken interpret traditional DJ-based music with live instruments and have successfully created an innovative, distinct sound that’s all their own. Their transcendent live shows are a showcase of brilliant improvisation and a tightly-knit bond between Salken and Lalli, who breathlessly alternates between keys, sax and laptop, building a futuristic wall of sound that keeps the crowd on its feet. The duo leaves no genre off-limits as they channel everything from funk and dubstep to house and hip-hop. Their latest album, NOCTURNAL, was released in early 2012 via their own label Big Gigantic Records as a free download on their website www.biggigantic.net and has received over 750,000 downloads to date. BIG GIGANTIC have spent the last two years on various sold-out headlining tours across the country and received rave reviews from their many festival appearances that have included Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, Hangout, Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest and Outside Lands among many others.
