FANS OF THE BLACK CROWES “GET TALL IN THE ROCKIES”
LUCKY CONTEST WINNERS (AND THEIR GUESTS) FROM 40 CITIES TO BE FLOWN TO THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS FOR A TWO-NIGHT SPECIAL EVENT WITH THE BLACK CROWES
NIGHT ONE: ALL WINNERS WILL BE PRIVATELY TRANSPORTED TO THE TOUR-ENDING CONCERT AT DENVER’S LEGENDARY RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE TO SEE THE BLACK CROWES AND THEIR GUESTS Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Drive-By Truckers;
NIGHT TWO: THE WINNERS WILL BE BROUGHT TO A PRIVATE “BROTHERS OF A FEATHER” SPECIAL ACOUSTIC CONCERT BY CHRIS AND RICH ROBINSON AT THE FAMED FOX THEATRE IN BOULDER, CO
Fans of THE BLACK CROWES from across the country are in for a treat this summer in the Rocky Mountains.
As a show of appreciation to their devoted fans, look for lucky winners (each with a guest) to be selected via contests on the band's official website (www.blackcrowes.com) and at radio stations in 40 different cities for a major two-day experience that will mark the end of their upcoming headlining summer shed tour with special guests Robert Randolph & The Family Band and Drive-By Truckers–a nine-week trek of free-spirited music launching June 10 in Seattle.
The festivities of the “Get Tall In The Rockies” contest include fans being flown into Denver, CO to check into the "Hotel Illness" for two nights, attend the tour's final stop at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre (August 12) and then experience a private "Brothers of a Feather" acoustic concert by CHRIS and RICH ROBINSON the following night at the Fox Theatre in Boulder. The recent "Brothers of a Feather" tour by CHRIS and RICH–which featured full-length acoustic sets for the first time in their career–was an overwhelming success, with each show selling out in minutes and generating critical acclaim.
The Boulder "Brothers of a Feather" special show is a sincere thank-you to the fans who’ve long supported THE BLACK CROWES. This marks the first time in the band's career whereby no tickets are being sold to the general public and fans are being flown in from around the country or personally invited to attend this special two-day party.
Here are some critical soundbites from the "Brothers of a Feather" tour:
"’Brothers of a Feather’ is certainly a sight to behold and a sound to endear. Although there are only eleven dates booked for the tour, if Friday's show is
any indication, they will go down in rock and roll history as some of the
greatest performances ever played." Stony Brook Independent (4/15/06)
“The brothers meshed most intriguingly on the set’s passel of covers, which crossed genre lines with surprising grace, attesting to both their shared depth of historical knowledge and the fluidity with which they’re capable of shifting gears. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine the members of any other mainstream hard rock act venturing as far afield to cover the Incredible String Band (an ethereal take on ‘Log Cabin Home In The Sky’) and Roy Acuff (a hoedown-ready rendition of ‘Wreck On The Highway’).” Daily Variety (4/18/06)
Stay tuned for contest news at both radio stations and on the THE BLACK CROWES' website.
