MUSIC FEATURED IN #1 MOVIE IN THE COUNTRY
SELF-RELEASED CD AVAILABLE NOW
BROKEDOWN CADILLAC has also just self-released their first album, SOMEWHERE IN AMERICA, which they toasted to at an album release/movie release party last Saturday (3/14) at Los Angeles’ Molly Malone’s. “Best week of my life,” says RANDY, who wrote the album’s 11 songs with CORRI, whom he met three years ago while performing with his previous group and immediately clicked with musically. BROKEDOWN CADILLAC were invited to be a part of the film by director Andy Fickman, who had seen the group perform in Los Angeles. “It’s just our good luck that Andy caught one of our shows and dug our music,” adds the guitarist/songwriter/singer.
CORRI–whose TV acting credits include “CSI Miami,” “Navy NCIS,” “Without A Trace” and “The Bedford Diaries”–says, “It seems like so long ago that we filmed ‘Race,’ so it was a lot of fun to go the premiere and see all the friends we made on the movie set! We didn’t even get to see the whole movie because we had to get ready to play, so we took our families and went to see it on opening day and had a blast seeing ourselves on the big screen.”
BROKEDOWN CADILLAC are seen performing at a honky-tonk bar in the film, and five of their songs are heard throughout the movie (which stars Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino). Two of these songs–“Southern Nights” and “Boogie Woogie Saturday Night”–appear on the digital soundtrack from Walt Disney Records.
