TREK HITS THE TROUBADOUR IN LOS ANGELES ON TUESDAY DECEMBER 1
FEATURED ARTIST ON CHANNEL ONE NETWORK ALL WEEK LONG WITH INTERVIEWS, LIVE PERFORMANCES AND MP3s;
After wrapping a solo tour and a handful of shows with The Wallflowers, esteemed singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist BUTTERFLY BOUCHER will kick off a U.S. tour with Erin McCarley beginning October 18 in Indianapolis. The 13-date tour is in support of her acclaimed second album SCARY FRAGILE–just released September 15 via Nettwerk and highlighted by her edgy mix of soaring pop-rock melodies and unflinchingly intimate lyrics.
Next, BUTTERFLY returns to the “Ten Out Of Tenn” tour November 27 in Baton Rouge that she was a part of last year. “Ten Solo Artists all coming together to share a stage and a tour bus could be very dangerous! Luckily for us, it's been amazing,” explains BUTTERFLY. “Everybody has a great sense of humor which helps get us through the nights of bad sleep and the camaraderie on stage has been inspiring.” The 15-date trek–which takes up and coming singer-songwriters from Tennessee across the U.S.–will hit The Troubadour in Los Angeles Tuesday, December 1 and sees BUTTERFLY performing alongside Matthew Perryman Jones, Erin McCarley, Andy Davis, Griffin House, Trent Dabbs, Katie Herzig, Jeremy Lister, Tyler James and K.S. Rhoads.
Meanwhile, BUTTERFLY is the featured artist on the Channel One Network all week long. Channel One News is a 12-minute national news program for teens broadcast via satellite to middle schools and high schools across the United States. Of SCARY FRAGILE, Jonathan Takiff of the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS has noted, “…the new set showcases her torched-up mix of rock punchiness and pop accessibility, delivered in that charmingly accented voice and with a hot band that is mostly half her on bass, guitar and keyboards. …this Buttterfly deserves to fly alone and very high” (5/22/09). Elsewhere, Elysa Gardner of USA TODAY remarked about the sultry first single “Gun For A Tongue:” “Butterfly Boucher's ferocity is slier and more personal on a sleek, driving track from the aptly titled SCARY FRAGILE” (6/30/09).” Elsewhere, C. Molly Smith of CAMPUS CIRCLE added “the lyrics are so simple and honest and the vocal harmonies are so astonishingly beautiful that even the most cold-hearted being would melt” (9/22/09).

About BUTTERFLY BOUCHER: Musical from a young age, the Australian native was born in the middle of a seven-daughter family to artistic and free-spirited parents–her father was in rock n’ roll bands and her mother a ballerina–who encouraged her and her sisters to follow their dreams. A tight unit, BUTTERFLY was raised with a nomadic upbringing, traveling across the Australian outback with her family and picking up roots every few months. Not often finding other 11-year-old musicians to hang out with, BUTTERFLY learned how to play each instrument herself, a skill that she has continued to develop and use throughout her career. As a multi-instrumentalist, BUTTERFLY has performed on many albums, including Mat Kearney’s song “Breathe In, Breathe Out” (the “Grey’s Anatomy” theme song), vocals on David Mead’s album Indiana. She recorded a duet with David Bowie of his song “Changes” for the film Shrek 2. BUTTERFLY’s own songs have been featured on the TV series “The Days,” “Wonderfalls,” “Spin City,” and “Charmed,” plus “Grey’s Anatomy” has featured three of her songs over the years, including most recently “A Bitter Song” off SCARY FRAGILE. Look for BUTTERFLY BOUCHER to tour throughout 2009 and beyond.
