CHIODOS
SET TO JOIN LINKIN PARK AND COHEED AND CAMBRIA
FOR WINTER ARENA TOUR TO LAUNCH FEBRUARY 12 IN OMAHA
VIDEO FOR “LEXINGTON…”
–THE FIRST SINGLE OFF THEIR TOP FIVE ALBUM ‘BONE PALACE BALLET’–
TO DEBUT EARLY 2008
After wrapping a hugely successful fall headlining tour–which averaged a 96% sell out rate including sold out shows in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, Seattle and Portland–CHIODOS have announced they’ll join Linkin Park and Coheed and Cambria for a winter arena tour beginning February 12. High profile stops include Madison Square Garden in New York February 21 and a show March 4 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center (see full list of dates below).
The cutting-edge Flint, MI-based CHIODOS–CRAIG OWENS (vocals), BRADLEY BELL (keyboards), PAT McMANAMAN (guitar), MATT GODDARD (bass), JASON HALE (guitar) and DERRICK FROST (drums)–are proving to be an unstoppable force on the road as their breakthrough second album BONE PALACE BALLET continues to gain both critical and fan awareness after entering the Billboard Top 200 Chart at a spectacular #5 and selling over 100,000 copies to date. In a four-and-a half-out-of-five star review, Alternative Press magazine called the disc a “…frighteningly mighty album of exhilarating musicianship and inspired lyrical introspection…” (October 2007).
BONE PALACE BALLET represents an artistic leap forward from their critically acclaimed 2005 debut All’s Well That End’s Well, which has sold over 191,000 copies. The wildly eclectic album’s many standout songs include first single “Lexington. (Joey Pea-Pot With a Monkey Face),” for which CHIODOS recently lensed a video in Hollywood with director Josh Graham (Dillinger Escape Plan’s “Unretrofied,” Isis’ “In Fiction,” Saves The Day’s “The End,” Underoath’s “It’s A Dangerous Business…”). Expect the video to debut in the New Year.
After the winter trek, CHIODOS are confirmed to perform at both the Bamboozle Left at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, CA April 6 and the Bamboozle Festival Saturday, May 3 at Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The group will join Jack’s Mannequin, Mindless Self Indulgence, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and The Starting Line as well as many others. For more info, visit: www.thebamboozle.com.

Check out some of the strong critical reaction:
“When Owens takes the stage, he’s virtuosic. He flails, rooster-struts and raises his fists like a warrior vowing revenge. As he sings about betrayal, obsession and bloodlust, he switches between a wounded, pitch perfect falsetto and a razorblade gargle: the vulnerable psychopath.”
–Jonah Weiner, BLENDER, December 2007
“Forget what you think you know about Chiodos, because Bone Palace Ballet is no masquerade: It’s a frighteningly mighty album of exhilarating musicianship and inspired lyrical introspection that plays out like an evening at some glorious experimental-hardcore cabaret, topped by a nightcap at the brokedown bordello across the back alley. That this band has evolved to author a paralyzing ragtime piano-pop jangle like ‘Lexington (Joey Pea-Pot and his Monkey Face)’ for five minutes is unbelievable. Add to that the jaw-dropping juxtaposition the transcendent ‘A Letter From Janelle’ shares with mammoth closer ‘The Undertaker’s Thirst For Revenge is Unquenchable’ and the excellence is awe-inspiring. …Bone Palace Ballet is an arresting piece of post-modern musical art…”
–Tristan Staddon, ALTERNATIVE PRESS, **** ½ star CD review, October 2007
“Craigery Owens, the virtuosic lead singer, could be doing double duty in a horror movie. [On Bone Palace Ballet] He alternates between the fearsome roar of a monster and the pleading falsetto of a victim. And the best songs here go way over the top, like ‘Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered,’ which gets more unhinged as it goes on. The new wave introduction makes way for an operatic chorus and a mosh-metal break…Though this band’s 2005 album, All’s Well That Ends Well, offered one jump-cut tantrum after another, this CD is a bit slower and sweeter with lots of strings.”
–Kelefa Sanneh, NEW YORK TIMES, September 3, 2007
“[On] Bone Palace Ballet–the beefed up production harnesses the raw, unrestrained energy of the group’s breakout release 2005’s All’s Well that Ends Well, into a grander, more substantive affair. The album still packs the hardcore punch of the band’s previous work, with plenty of heavy, blistering guitar riffs and frontman Craig Owens’ rough growls and shrieks. But there’s a newfound orchestral and melodic touch, with livelier piano driven jaunts that nod to Queen–see ‘Lexington (Joey Pea-Pot With a Monkey Face)’ and stripped down string-backed ballads “Intensity In Ten Cities.” A mature step up for a band on the rise.”
–Jill Menze, BILLBOARD.COM, September 3, 2007
“[Lexington is] a sweeping, piano-led example of dark majesty…”
