‘YEAR OF THE SPIDER’ CD SET FOR RELEASE MAY 13
As COLD’s “Stupid Girl” single builds at radio, the band will debut the song on national television on Jimmy Kimmel Live May 13 at midnight in connection with the release of their YEAR OF THE SPIDER CD (Flip/Geffen) that day. In addition, COLD has just been confirmed to perform on the second and third legs of this summer’s highly anticipated Lollapalooza festival. COLD will join Jane’s Addiction, Audioslave, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Jurassic 5 and The Donnas on the mainstage for the third leg of the tour from August 12 in Albuquerque through August 30 in Syracuse. Leading up to this, COLD will headline the second stage on the second leg of the tour from July 22 in Buffalo through August 10 in Houston. This tour follows COLD’s U.S. spring trek.
While “Stupid Girl” explodes at radio–it’s currently bulleted at #24 on Billboard’s Mainstream Monitor Rock chart, #29 on Billboard’s Modern Rock Monitor and at #23 at Active Rock–the video for the song has also been added to MTV, MTV2 and MuchMusic USA. Directed by Marc Webb (Puddle Of Mudd, Green Day, Good Charlotte), the clip was shot in Minneapolis and embodies the raw intensity of the band’s live performance.

“Stupid Girl” has received early adds at key radio stations such as KROQ (Los Angeles), K-ROCK (New York), WBCN (Boston), DC 101 (Washington), WZZN (Chicago), 89X (Detroit), WZTA (Miami), KNDD (Seattle), WXTM (Cleveland), KEBJ (Phoenix) and many more.
YEAR OF THE SPIDER was produced Howard Benson (P.O.D.’s current triple platinum Satellite) and follows the gold success of COLD’s 2000 13 Ways To Bleed On Stage CD. YEAR OF THE SPIDER brings the emotional turbulence of singer and songwriter SCOOTER WARD more into focus than before, in a distinguished sonic mix that’s moody, melodic and aggressive all at once.
COLD–SCOOTER (vocals), KELLY HAYES (guitar), JEREMY MARSHALL (bass), TERRY BALSAMO (guitar) and SAM McCANDLESS (drums)–are on tour in the following cities. Check out www.coldonline.com.
