After nine years in the Culver City Arts District, the COREY HELFORD GALLERY [CHG] moves to a new, expansive Downtown Los Angeles locale later this year. The gallery will debut with the December 12th launch of NeoNature: We Are The New They, featuring new works by Ron English, renowned street artist and master Pop-Surrealist painter.

The new COREY HELFORD GALLERY reopens its doors in a robust 12,000 sq. ft. building befitting the trend-setting exhibitions it will host within the heart of the city’s art community. The new location looms seven times larger than the original. Moreover, it boasts three separate galleries: each of which will house individual artist and group exhibitions. The main gallery takes up 4,500 square feet, offering total immersion for attendees. Simultaneously, CHG‘s reputation for warm and welcoming energy will have more space to go around. It’s bound to become a mecca for the leaders of the New Contemporary art scene.

“We want to bring Downtown an electric, exciting, eclectic and living powerhouse of art that will be a must-see for anyone interested in art in the Los Angeles area,” CHG founders JAN COREY HELFORD and BRUCE HELFORD say of their DTLA move.  “This isn’t really a coming-of-age moment for the CHG gallery. It’s more of a ‘Big Bang’ explosion of a new galaxy of art. We’re creating a new universe in L.A. composed of our favorite artists and a large selection of new artists and voices that coalesce into this new movement and send it spinning into the future. The exciting thing is we want art enthusiasts to have a front row seat to this ‘Big Bang.‘”

Since 2006, CHG has remained a bastion of trailblazing and cutting edge Contemporary art, consistently raising the bar with monthly exhibitions spanning everything from Pop Surrealism and New Figurative to Graffiti and Street Art. In the process, it continually sets the pace for the zeitgeist.  That will continue with the upcoming December exhibit from Ron English.

Ron English’s NeoNature: We Are The New They reflects the vision of one of the world’s most iconic contemporary artists. NeoNature builds a 21st century primal mythos through an exhibition of a different kind of wild captured on multi-layered installations, sculptures, paintings and photographs with real teeth. Click here to download five samples of Ron‘s artwork that will be on display at NeoNature.

Regarding the new home of CHG, English adds, “Downtown is the place where the art scene is migrating, which I believe will push L.A. to the forefront of the global art world. Big spaces allow for big ideas and big shows.”

This will be the first of many exciting exhibitions planned for the new CHG space, the Helfords add, “We will have a new exhibition every month of the year to give enough time for the audience to come and view and collect the works, but change it often enough to keep everyone excited about the next new show.  It’s an organism that sheds its skin each month to reveal an entirely new organism.  We’ll be announcing the yearly line-up soon, with plenty of surprises.”

It doesn’t get any bigger than this. Stay tuned for more very soon.
