DAVE PIRNER’S “NEVER RECOVER” #1 MOST ADDED AAA SONG ON HITS AND R&R;
SINGER, SONGWRITER AND MUSICIAN PREPARES FOR CROSS COUNTRY TOUR IN SUPPORT OF “FACES & NAMES” DEBUT SOLO ALBUM
With “Never Recover”–the debut single from his first-ever solo album–all over the airwaves, DAVE PIRNER is preparing for a 12-city cross-country tour in support of his self-produced-and-written album FACES & NAMES.
Due out July 30 on Ultimatum Music, the disc merges moody pop melodies, electric/acoustic textures and intimate lyrics with a soulful R&B undertow. In the June 29 issue of BILLBOARD, Melinda Newman describes the album as “Much rawer than Soul Asylum during the band’s pop commercial heyday. FACES & NAMES captures PIRNER in an often reflective mood lyrically, while musically, there are touches that showcase his move to New Orleans, including an organ on first single ‘Never Recover’ or horns on ‘Someday Love.’ For a complete change of pace from what Pirner fans are used to, check out the R&B-flavored, soulful ‘Feel The Need.'”
Stations from Seattle to Boston helped make “Never Recover” the #1 most added on R&R’s Triple A and HITS’ APM charts in its first week at radio. In addition to the aforementioned markets, the song–which features the legendary keyboardist Billy Preston–can also be heard in PIRNER‘s native Minneapolis, Washington DC, San Francisco and Nashville, among other cities.
