DAVID BOWIE TO STAR
WITH HARVEY KEITEL IN A NEW FILM
CALLED "MY WEST"
DAVID BOWIE is to star in a new film called My West alongside Harvey Keitel, Italian star Leonard Pieraccioni (major film star in his native Italy) and Sandrine Holt. My West is a Western fable based on Vincenzo Pardini's novel Jodo Cartamigil, with a script written by Pieracciono and Giovanno Veronesi, who is also directing.
Pieracciono plays a pacifist medic who is married to a Native American woman played by Holt. Keitel is cast as the doctor's father who also happens to be an infamous gunman returning for the first time in 20 years, while BOWIE will play a hard-hearted gunslinger on a mission to kill Keitel so he can usurp him as "the fastest gun in the West." BOWIE's part will be shot in June in Tuscany and Canada. Meantime, BOWIE, who has recently finished shooting the much anticipated Everybody Loves Sunshine, is expected to be in cast in a third major movie within the next two months.
The $10 million, English language film is set in the fictitious town of Basinfield in America's Old West, though it will be filmed on various locations in Tuscany, much in the tradition of Sergio Leone's Eastwood classics.
