"I like what I’ve heard of Deadmau5’s original tracks and remixes—nice, dark techno just bordering on the progressive—but I’m a sucker for a good gimmick, and Deadmau5 totally takes the Best Use of a Helmet Since Daft Punk award for his giant, maniacally grinning mouse head (blue this time, with Xs on the eyes). His eyes lit up and flashed in time with the music, cycling through different colors. I could only stay just long enough to hear ‘”Sometimes Things Get, Whatever”/”Complicated,” which sounded great on the beefed up soundsystem, inspiring much movement despite the sardine-like conditions on much of the dancefloor. Celebrated electronic music producer DEADMAU5 will unveil a Halloween-themed version of his infamous Mau5head—a giant, tailor-made mouse head costume used during live performances—at this year's electronic music festival HARD Haunted Mansion on Friday, October 31 at the Shrine Expo Hall in downtown Los Angeles. DEADMAU5's signature Mau5head already comes in a striking blue and devilish red, but with the spirit of Halloween alive and thriving, the Mau5head will be donned in pitch black with a bright orange light within the eyes of the head to perfectly reflect the image of a pumpkinMau5.

Billed alongside some of the biggest names in electronic music today, DEADMAU5 is expected to deliver one of the most highly anticipated live performances at the HARD Haunted Mansion event. Featuring performances by JUSTICE, SOULWAX, SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO, BOYS NOIZE and CRYSTAL CASTLES, DEADMAU5 joins an elite roster of artists who are taking the electronic circuit by storm.

DEADMAU5’s appearance at HARD is in anticipation of his debut album RANDOM ALBUM TITLE, due in stores November 4 via ULTRA Records. This release brings together for the first time all of the JUNO Award-winning producer’s most popular material including the smashes “Not Exactly” and “Faxing Berlin” along with his collaboration with Kaskade “I Remember” plus new songs “Some Kind of Blue” and “Slip.”
