DUBFIRE AND SHARAM SET FOR FOR SPECIAL CELEBRATORY DJ
GIG JANUARY 17 AT THE PALACE IN HOLLYWOOD
DEEP DISH return to Los Angeles to join in the celebration of the three-year anniversary of one of the city’s key club nights. On Friday, January 17, Ali ‘Dubfire’ Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi will headline GIANT’s anniversary celebration at The Palace (1735 Vine St Hollywood CA, 323-462-3000) from 10:00 pm – 5:00 am. Admission is $10 before 10:00 pm, $20 after until midnight and $25 after that until close. Other DJ’s confirmed for the night are Taylor, Mark Tabberner and Sol.
Deep Dish appeared at Canada’s largest club, Toronto’s The Guvernment last month (Saturday, December 7) where they DJ’d to over 3,000 fans. Their deep and soulful eight-hour long set, which included an abundant amount of exclusive tracks and outstanding vocal remixes, offered a taste of what will appear on their next release, DEEP DISH – GLOBAL UNDERGROUND 025: TORONTO. Stated the Miami Herald (12/20/02) of the evening, “Fans who experienced the night in Toronto won’t likely forget it any time soon — it was a notch above even Deep Dish’s lofty goals.” Deep Dish ‘Toronto’ is scheduled for release spring 2003, with a world-wide tour set to kick off at the Winter Music Conference in Miami in March.
Currently, the pair’s remix of Justin Timberlake’s single, “Like I Love You” is charting at Billboard (January 11 issue) in the #3 position on the Club Play chart and the #10 position on the Maxi-Singles Sales chart. ‘Dubfire’ and Sharam earned a prestigious Grammy Award for ‘Best Remixed Recording’ for their remix of Dido’s “Thank You” which continues to rank after 44 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Dance Music Maxi-Singles Sales chart. They also placed #2 in the “Best Dance/DJ Artist” category by the critics of Rolling Stone for their music awards of 2001 and #10 in DJ Magazine’s World’s Top 100 DJ’s readers’ poll for 2001.
Deep Dish vaulted into the spotlight in 1998 with their seminal full-length release Junk Science, transcending genres with the dance floor smash “The Future Of The Future (Stay Gold),” featuring the vocals of Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorn. Other Deep Dish releases include Global Underground 021 – Deep Dish ’Moscow’ (2001), Yoshiesque 2 (2001), Renaissance Ibiza (2000), and Yoshiesque (1999).
