ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN ARENA TOUR

DEPECHE MODE have unveiled dates for a North American arena tour that will launch November 2 in Ft. Lauderdale and continue through mid-December. Touching down at such venues as Madison Square Garden in New York City (December 7) and Staples Center in Los Angeles (November 21), the trek will support PLAYING THE ANGEL, the new album from DEPECHE MODE that comes out October 18 on Sire/Reprise. Supporting duties will alternate between the Bravery and the Ravonettes.

This trek marks DEPECHE MODE’s first since 2001’s mega-successful “Exciter” tour, when they performed 85 shows to nearly two million people. PLAYING THE ANGEL is the band’s first new studio album since Exciter, which sold two million copies worldwide. The album features the single “Precious,” a classic DEPECHE MODE song with a cyber pulse matched to a glorious chorus.

Following the U.S. concert leg, DEPECHE MODE–DAVE GAHAN, MARTIN GORE and ANDREW FLETCHER–head overseas for 55 European dates that span a host of countries including Germany, England, Switzerland, Poland, France and Italy. Four months prior to their first European show, tickets are going fast with sales already topping 520,000, leading to a host of notable sell-outs. The overseas tour kicks off in Dresden on January 13, 2006, finishing with the opening shows of the new Wembley Arena on April 2 and 3, 2006.
