DISTURBED
CONFIRMED FOR OZZFEST;
BAND SHOOT VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE “STUPIFY”
AS SONG IMPACTS RADIO
DISTURBED–on the road with rock icon Danzig through May 16–have received their calling. The band will join the high-octane caravan of inspired misfits such as Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera and Godsmack on the Ozzfest 2000 tour beginning July 2 in West Palm Beach, Florida. DISTURBED will bring their twisted sound–recently described by Kerrang! as “instantly recognizable…Not rap exactly, more like hyperspeed reggae patterns interspersed with yelps and shrieks…Put simply, these choruses drop bombs…DISTURBED are straight in through the bay window with a frame charge and a stun grenade”–to the second stage, where they’ll be performing music from their Giant Records debut THE SICKNESS, alongside Ministry and Kittie. Meanwhile, DISTURBED–vocalist DAVID DRAIMAN, guitarist DAN DONEGAN, drummer/programmer MIKE WENGREN and bassist FUZZ-recently shot a video for the emotionally charged lead single “Stupify.” Directed by Nathan Cox (System Of A Down, Coal Chamber, Videodrone), the clip revolves around a small, downtrodden boy in a dark, dilapidated hospital. Vivid performance images of the band and a host of surreal, lingering spirits create a chaotic atmosphere that promises to inflame viewers’ imaginations.
In other news, THE SICKNESS remains on the Billboard “Heatseekers” album chart at the same time “Stupify” is impacting metal and modern rock radio. On the net, fans and curious psychotics can interact with the group via their website at www.disturbed1.com. Here’s a short sample of what you can expect:
“Imagine exposing yourself completely, all your hidden thoughts and desires. All your passions, love and hate prostrating naked before humanity’s tribunal, every detail of your person examined for flaws and imperfections.”
— DAVID DRAIMAN in a letter to fans of DISTURBED
