DISTURBED GALVANIZE “VOICES” ON THE WEB
AS VIDEO IS ADDED TO MTV
Devoted DISTURBED fans flooded the web to preview the band’s startling new video–now in rotation on MTV–for their evocative single “Voices.” As part of an innovative Internet contest, DISTURBED and Giant Records are sending one lucky winner to Europe to meet the band during their month-long tour with Marilyn Manson. Joe McGinnis from Denver was chosen at random after viewing the video on his local radio station website (KBPI).
The platinum-selling rockers–DAVID DRAIMAN (vocals), DAN DONEGAN (guitar), FUZZ (bass), MIKE WENGREN (drums, programming)–will also perform a free concert for radio station WNOR in Norfolk, VA as part of the Internet contest during which the “Voices” video was viewed over 100,000 times. 52 radio stations in major markets nationwide hosted the video on each of their websites for fans to view (fans could also log on to the band’s official website–www.disturbed1.com–to see the clip). WNOR’s website ultimately drew the most DISTURBED fans and therefore will host the free concert (date TBA). This contest was spawned as a result of Giant Records’ consistent commitment to innovative web promotions.
Meanwhile, after two headlining sold-out shows at The Metro in the band’s hometown Chicago last weekend, DISTURBED kicked off their European tour with Marilyn Manson January 21 in Birmingham, England and wrap up one month later in Helsinki, Finland.
