DJ Z-TRIP is one of the most influential turntablists of our time. Performing over 100 shows a year, he is also known as the founding father of the mash-up movement. On March 10, he’ll take part in Operation MySpace, an exclusive concert live from the Middle East for American troops, marking him as the first DJ to officially perform overseas for the military.
Operation MySpace is a groundbreaking concert event designed to bring troops serving in Kuwait a taste of home and enable the MySpace community to show their support for troops serving overseas. Z-Trip will travel to Kuwait–along with Jessica Simpson, Disturbed, Filter and comedian Carlos Mencia–to participate in the three-hour plus MySpaceLive! concert that will be streamed in high definition flash provided by KULABYTE exclusively on the official Operation MySpace profile: http://myspace.com/operationmyspace. The global MySpace community can watch the concert webcast live starting at 11 a.m. PT/ 2 p.m. ET. A condensed 1-hour version of the show, featuring the best and most stirring moments, will be nationally broadcasted on FX on April 12.
"I'm honored to have the opportunity to go over there and perform for the troops," states Z-Trip about his show for Operation MySpace. "I'm hoping to bring them a little piece of home through the music. They'll be plenty of hip-hop, rock, some turntable tricks and some thought-provoking stuff. Playing for a crowd this diverse is actually a good thing–it allows me to go all over the place musically.”
