DRIVE A
CONFIRM FALL TOUR WITH BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE,
ESCAPE THE FATE AND BLACK TIDE
NEW ALBUM BEING RECORDED FOR EARLY 2011 RELEASE
Punk quartet DRIVE A–just off this summer's Bamboozle Roadshow–will spend the fall on the road with Bullet For My Valentine, Escape The Fate and Black Tide. Kicking off September 16 in Wichita, KS, the tour will take the explosive Los Angeles band to major U.S. and Canadian markets including a show October 1 at Roseland Ballroom in New York and wrapping October 27 at the Palladium in Los Angeles. The young rockers have been earning critical praise for their passionate performances with pure, raw energy.
DRIVE A’s lead singer/guitarist BRUNO MASCOLO, guitarist JASON NOTT, bassist TAYLOR KNOWLES and drummer CODY ROOT have spent a couple months in the studio working on the follow-up to their 2009 debut LP LOSS OF DESIRE. The new album–produced by Dave Cobb (The Strays, Shooter Jennings)–will be recorded live to ensure an authentic and organic sound. Look for some of the new material to be previewed on the band’s fall tour.
“For the new album we are trying to revive a lifeless industry by introducing a new generation to music that takes risks instead of playing it safe,” says MASCOLO. “We want to make a statement and open the eyes of the youth to rid themselves of compromise…maybe there is a future for us.”
Loss Of Desire was re-released this year with a limited edition three-song bonus disc featuring covers of The Clash’s “White Riot” and The Buzzcocks “What Do I Get” as well as a live version of album track “Are You Blind?” Darryl Smyers of the Dallas Observer said:
“Drive A is a relatively new rock quartet with solid punk leanings. Led by appropriately snotty lead vocalist/guitarist Bruno Mascolo, Drive A hails from Los Angeles and is happy to harken back to the classic hardcore punk days of Orange County when bands like Black Flag and the Adolescents were giving the disaffected a little hope.” (April 29, 2010).
The band has also earned accolades for their explosive live shows. Vancouver Concert Addicts.com said in a recent review:
“The moment they stepped before the horde, they were on fire. The lead singer is like a Tasmanian devil, shooting around wrapped in pure chaos. The bassist and axe man leapt in the air constantly through the set. Everything about this act is powerful and assiduous, they are raw punk…Drive-A is a mass explosion of punk chaos.” (April 18, 2010).
DRIVE A will continue to bring the intensity to their upcoming tour dates. Don’t miss ‘em!
