EPICENTER Twenty Ten
DRAWS CROWD OF MORE THAN 50,000
SEPTEMBER 25 & 26 AT
AUTO CLUB SPEEDWAY IN FONTANA, CA
More than 50,000 music fans gathered at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, CA for EPICENTER Twenty Ten this past weekend (September 25 and 26). Marking the festival’s second outing, this year’s line-up included performances from the top rock, hip-hop and punk artists, with the festival fittingly concluding with a set from Blink 182–in their only 2010 North American appearance–featuring Fontana native Travis Barker.
The EPICENTER Twenty Ten all-star line-up also featured a combination of talent unseen at any other event including headlining performances from Eminem (in the only California appearance this year by the #1 selling artist of 2010) and KISS (also their only 2010 California appearance); Bush (first show in 9 years) and Rise Against (another only-2010-California-appearance). EPICENTER Twenty Ten also marked the first Southern California show in a decade for the recently reunited House of Pain, who are also celebrating their 20th anniversary. In addition, the multi-stage weekend-long event was highlighted by a special performance from DMX in the festival’s VIP area.
Here’s some initial critical feedback on EPICENTER Twenty Ten:
“…the huge cheers he (Eminem) got in response at the Epicenter festival in Fontana on Saturday…He was sharing a diverse bill with the rock acts Kiss, Bush and Papa Roach and with fellow hip-hop artists Big Boi and House of Pain.”
—Los Angeles Times, September 27, 2010
“…there were still plenty of reasons (one highly compelling one above all) to have trekked out to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana for the first half of Epicenter Twenty Ten…the launch of the annual California Jam-inspired Inland Empire festival, which for its second go-round has been expanded to two days of rock, rap and punk…just about the best hip-hop performance I've ever seen…”
—Orange County Register, September 27, 2010
“…tens of thousands of fans came out to enjoy the Epicenter Festival at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana this weekend. Capping the weekend was a performance by Blink-182…”
—Riverside Press Enterprise, September 27, 2010
“Auto Club Speedway went from an Earnhardt to an Eminem at the Epicenter Twenty Ten this weekend. Instead of NASCAR drivers like Dale Earnhardt Jr. or Jimmy Johnson loudly driving in circles, the rock, hip-hop and punk festival Epicenter on Saturday and Sunday featured hip-hop superstars like Eminem, rock's Kiss and punk's Blink-182.”
—Redlands Daily Facts, September 27, 2010
“The great Epicenter bill included Bush and a surprise performance in the VIP tent by DMX. The crowd rocked through the heat of the night.”
