Late last year, American electronic music producer GETTER released his latest studio album VISCERAL on mau5trap, showing off a new direction, sound and intention–one that came from the intense experiences of heartbreak, rejection, unhealthy relationships and more. Now, GETTER will bring his music to the masses with the “Visceral Live Tour.”
Kicking off February 27 in Eugene, OR, GETTER‘s “Visceral Live Tour” will touch down in over 25 U.S. markets including Los Angles, NYC, Chicago, Houston and many more. He’ll also bring the show to the BUKU Music & Art Project in New Orleans. The brand-new live show will highlight material from his 12-track work among other productions.
Along with the news of the tour, GETTER has made available the video for “On My Way Out” featuring Joji. It’s directed by AudioOpera aka Graeme Barrett, a musician/director from Toronto, Canada whose work also includes videos for The Smashing Pumpkins and Lil Peep and has been recognized by Vimeo Staff picks. His style blurs the lines between fantasy and reality, often leaving the viewer with an unsettling feeling which is very much present in the “On My Way Out” video.
“This song has a double meaning: 1. ‘on my way out of this shit,’ like you’re finally starting to see colors again,” says GETTER. “And 2. “on my way out of this world,” meaning you have accepted defeat and want to give up.'”
An deeply artistic and conceptual album, VISCERAL hosts singles including “All is Lost,” “Made For You” and “Solo,” as well as collaborations with Audio Opera, Allan Kingdom, Nothing, Nowhere, Sweetsound, Midoca, Name UL, Njomza, Party Nails and Joji.
Entrepreneur, creative director, label owner are just a few titles American music producer Tanner Petulla professionally known as GETTER can claim. With the launch of his own clothing line Trippy Burger, the creation of his own record label “Shred Collective” – both sitting in multiple Zumiez stores nationwide – appearances on Last Call with Carson Daly, Real Bros of Simi Valley via Facebook Watch and consistently touring worldwide, GETTER is becoming more and more a household name. As he consistently grows as an artist, so does his musical repertoire. Evolving from aggressive basslines early in his career, dabbling in hip hop as he appears on Pouya, Dumbfoundead, and $UICIDEBOY$ albums and experimenting in metal to his current sound of vocally driven, emotional melodic blends of beats sailing buoyantly over waves of reverb and bass–there’s truly no genre safe to his touch. After his highly anticipated debut album VISCERAL dropped via deadmau5‘s imprint mau5trap September 2018, charting at #1 on iTunes electronic and Spotify’s top playlists, GETTER will be bringing his new sound and visual experience to the stage in early 2019 as he debuts VISCERAL LIVE. Expect the unexpected as GETTER expands into a new realm of artistry and pushes himself as a creative.
