HATEBREED
PREPARE TO RELEASE ‘PERSEVERANCE‘
ON UNIVERSAL RECORDS MARCH 26;
BAND TO EMBARK ON U.S. HEADLINING
‘PERSEVERANCE‘ TOUR
HATEBREED are poised to turn the underground upside down with the March 26 release of their Universal Records debut PERSEVERANCE. Produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Porno For Pyros, No Doubt) and mixed by Randy Staub (U2, Metallica, Nickelback), PERSEVERANCE blends the blitzkrieg of hardcore with the metallic thunder of extreme metal and a message which opts for the profound, rather than the profane.
PERSEVERANCE is destined to catapult the five-piece outfit from Connecticut to the forefront of America’s exploding heavy music scene with tracks such as “I Will Be Heard,” “Proven” and the musical fracas that is “Final Prayer” featuring Slayer guitarist Kerry King.
“This is definitely a much more extreme HATEBREED,” states vocalist JAMEY JASTA of their sophomore effort, which follows their 1997 independent release SATISFACTION THE DEATH OF DESIRE (Victory Records), that sold over 200,000 copies. “With America the way it is today, this music is real, it’s tangible. People can latch onto it, and anyone can relate to it. Take everything that surrounds you that is negative, and use that negativity to make somethingÉuse that hatred to do the right thing. I use that hatred to make music that helps me sleep at night,” JASTA explains.
After inspiring thousands of rabid fans to mosh during their second stage performances on Ozzfest 2001, HATEBREED—JASTA (vocals), SEAN MARTIN (guitar), LOU RICHARDS (guitar), CHRIS BEATTIE (bass) and MATT BYRNE(drums)–hit the road in December for a headlining club tour of America which was followed by a two-week trek with Slayer and additional solo shows. HATEBREED will kick-off their own major national “Perseverance 2002” headlining tour with Bane, Poison the Well and What Feeds The Fire on February 28 in Chicago, IL. This trek will be followed by the Smash Your Enemies 2002 Tour with Converge. Check out www.hatebreed.com for the most up-to-date tour info.
