NEW ALBUM WRITTEN WITH ROBERT HUNTER DUE IN 2010
“There’s so much great bluegrass music out there–I’m excited my own record got nominated,” says the Nashville-based singer, songwriter and musician, “and it was also an honor to be a part of George and Elvis’ projects and I wish them luck.”
On the new music front, LAUDERDALE has just completed the recording of his upcoming album PATCHWORK RIVER, which he co-wrote with longtime Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter (label and release date TBA).
LAUDERDALE won a “Best Bluegrass Album” Grammy in 2002 for his Lost In The Lonesome Pines collaboration with Ralph Stanley and in 2008 he won the same award for his album The Bluegrass Diaries (produced by multi-talented Randy Kohrs, who also produced his current album). He has written songs for artists including the Dixie Chicks, Solomon Burke, George Jones and has numerous hits with Patty Loveless, George Strait and others and also recently returned as host of the 2009 Americana Music Awards in Nashville.
