JOE PERRY MAKES SECOND APPEARANCE IN U.K.
AT “THE CONCERT FOR DIANA”
AFTER TRIUMPHANT AEROSMITH HYDE PARK CONCERT
AEROSMITH guitarist JOE PERRY, on a short break from the band’s European tour, took the stage July 1 as part of the historic “Concert For Diana” at Wembley Stadium, joining Tom Jones and his band on the classic “Ain’t That A Lot of Love” (with Joss Stone on guest vocals) and covers of Prince’s “Kiss” and the Arctic Monkeys' “I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.” Between this appearance, viewed by more than 500 million worldwide, and his special guest performance with Kelly Clarkson on the season finale of “American Idol,” PERRY and his fiery signature guitar sound (not to mention his cool, mysterious aura) have been a part of two of this year’s biggest TV events.
Just days before his “Concert for Diana” appearance, PERRY and the members of AEROSMITH performed their first full live show in the UK in nine years at the massive sold-out Hyde Park Calling event (June 24). With 50,000 fans cheering them on, the band thrilled the crowd with one Aerosmith classic after another. For the encore, they were joined onstage by rapper D.M.C. for the ground-breaking rock-rap classic "Walk This Way" that Aerosmith recorded with Run D.M.C. back in 1986. AEROSMITH continue their overseas domination with shows in Helsinki, Finland and St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russia before hitting the road in North America again later this month. AEROSMITH’s World Tour is encompassing 35 dates in 20 countries. It kicked off in May with first-ever performances in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Bangalore, India, where they electrified a crowd of 22,000 fans at the Palace Grounds.
