AND LOGAN MADER (EX-MACHINEHEAD, SOULFLY) GUEST
HIGH-PROFILE LIVE PERFORMANCES CONFIRMED FOR
ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL IN MIAMI MARCH 26 AND COACHELLA IN INDIO, CA MAY 1
WILL DEBUT MATERIAL FROM NEW ALBUM DUE OUT FALL 2005
For the past year, producer JUNKIE XL has been in the studio working on music for Xbox’s hot new racing simulator Forza Motorsport, due out May 3, 2005. For the highly anticipated game, JUNKIE XL (a.k.a. Tom Holkenborg) wrote and produced 56 pieces of original score influenced by 1970’s dark guitar rock. Fireball Ministry’s James A. Rota and Logan Mader, formerly of Machinehead and Soulfly, lend their guitar skills to his work as guest performers.
Recorded by Mader and his production partner Lucas Banker, all the tracks are instrumental and range from sped-up guitar hooks reminiscent of early Black Sabbath and Motorhead to the more psychedelic stylings of Pink Floyd. JUNKIE XL is no stranger to producing rock music. Beyond the 2002 global phenomenon that was Elvis vs. JXL’s "A Little Less Conversation," his past credits in the genre include Rammstein, Depeche Mode and the Dutch industrial rock band Nerve.
Meanwhile, JUNKIE XL is also confirmed for two high-profile appearances at the ULTRA Music Festival Saturday, March 26 in Miami during the Winter Music Conference and Coachella in Indio, CA on Sunday, May 1. At these two shows, he is planning on debuting brand-new material from his upcoming fall 2005 artist album.
