TO RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM ‘DAMAGE OF THIS DAY’ ON NOVEMBER 6;
PRODUCED AND MIXED BY SOME OF ROCK’S TOP NAMES;
BAND TO TOUR THIS FALL AND INTO 2008
KEVIN ELLIOT AND THE BROKEN will release their debut album DAMAGE OF THIS DAY–a memorable rock record with diverse and consistently strong material—on November 6. Led by Kentucky-reared, Los Angeles-based Kevin Elliot, the band–rounded out by drummer Jason Michalski, bassist Sam Boxleitner, and guitarist Billy Schleifer—will tour this fall and into 2008.
DAMAGE OF THIS DAY was produced and mixed by some of rock’s top names: Luke Ebbin (Bon Jovi, All American Rejects, Rival Schools) and Dave Way (Foo Fighters, Sheryl Crow, Michael Jackson) respectively. Prior to the current line-up of THE BROKEN being realized, the album was recorded at the legendary Henson Studios with some of Los Angeles’ finest session players: guitarist Dave Levita (Alanis Morissette, Daniel Powter), bassist Curt Schneider (Five For Fighting, Dog’s Eye View), and drummer Victor Indrizzo (Chris Cornell, Beck, Willie Nelson, Gnarls Barkley).
Bolstered by upbeat anthems (“I Will”), spirited, soulful revelations (“Broken City”) and semi-autobiographical ballads (“Almost Nearly”), DAMAGE OF THIS DAY opens with “Teleport” which looks to the future with a contagious, heartfelt approach, and never looks back. From the hard-charging confessional “Wake Up” to the quintessential rock ballad “More Than Time” to the punchy, ‘never give up’ confessional “Desperate Days,” Elliot fires on all cylinders.
“I always wanted to make an album where, if you wanted to drive fast, you could go to Track 9,” says Elliot. “Or if you just broke up with your girlfriend, you could put on Track 4. I think through good fortune and a lot of dedication, I have accomplished that goal.”
