LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE has announced a special engagement at the historic Downtown Palace Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday, July 28. The world renowned avant-garde electro-dub cirque has been invited to reopen the newly restored Palace Theatre in celebration of its 100th birthday. Tickets for this show are available Thursday, July 7 at 11:11am PT via http://beticketing.com/LucentDossierPalace.
LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE has prepared an extraordinary 90-minute performance for this landmark occasion, not typical of their previous appearances. "We will stretch the boundaries of what is possible for a rock concert or a circus or a sacred ritual, for the show melts the three elements into one," explains artistic director DREAM ROCKWELL. She goes on to share, “The evening will feature an explosion of art, color, music, alchemy and magic with unique aerial art, mystical fire dancers, deep electronic beats, live world instruments and interactive performers gliding through out the room."
The majestic setting of the Downtown Palace Theatre is a true inspiration for the critically acclaimed LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE. "We are excited to unleash our unique form of entertainment into the oldest vaudeville theater still standing today, as it did 100 years ago.” says DREAM. “Much was innovated within the walls of The Palace 100 years ago and now with the renovations, the theater that has stood silent for the past 20 years is back in its glory and magic is sure to be unleashed.
“The Vaudevillians were the performers of the late 1800's and early 1900's that changed the climate of what was not just socially exemptible but preferred and even idolized at the time,” adds DREAM. “You can't create in an environment that has been the home for ideas that reached so far outside the box, artistic ideas that lifted so many spirits –music, dance and magic that inspired so many souls–and ignore the energy of it in the air. When you're standing inside the theater it’s intoxicating. That's the wave we plan to ride when we step into The Palace on July 28th."

LUCENT DOSSIER EXPERIENCE was formed in 2004 when a group of avant-garde artists came together with the common goal of creating unique and inspiring entertainment that would leave its audiences spell bound, inspired and wanting more. The result has been an almost cult like following and stylistic craze that has reinvigorated the west coast underground art scene and Burning Man culture.
The Downtown Palace Theatre–located at 630 S. Broadway–was built in 1911 as the third Los Angeles home of the Orpheum Vaudeville circuit. It is the oldest remaining Orpheum theatre in the country. Every major vaudeville star on the Orpheum circuit performed in this theatre. The names in light included: the Marx Brothers, W.C. Fields, Sarah Bernhardt, Bob Hope, Al Jolson and Will Rogers. When Harry Houdini performed his stage magic and death-defying escapes, an ambulance was kept parked on the curb in case of emergency.
In celebration of the Palace Theater’s centennial, the Delijani Family has worked to restore the venue to revive its timeless essence. The intimate scale of the Palace Theatre in concert with its elegant French details compares to a 17th-century European opera house. With garland-draped columns, a color scheme of pale pastels, wall murals depicting pastoral scenes, and ceiling murals of whimsical girls, this 1911 theatre offers an unusually charming and graceful setting.
“The Palace Theater is truly a historic treasure. Stewardship of these theaters and honoring their rich history has been and continues to be a great honor for us,” says the Delijani Family.
