DIANA MENDOZA
TO ASSOCIATE PUBLICIST
Mitch Schneider, President of the Mitch Schneider Organization (MSO), has announced the promotion of DIANA MENDOZA to Associate Publicist at the Los Angeles-based publicity agency.
DIANA joined MSO in July 2006 as Executive Assistant to Mitch Schneider and Lathum Nelson and later Shazila Mohammed.
While continuing to work closely with Mitch and Shazila, Diana’s role has expanded to include arranging interviews, album reviews and other media placements for various clients including DAVID BOWIE, OZZY OSBOURNE, DEPECHE MODE, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, LES CLAYPOOL, SKINNY PUPPY and ACUTE.
“From the beginning, it was clear to me that Diana had killer passion and an impressive knowledge of music,” says Schneider. “That combination gets you through the door, and then Diana jumped headfirst in the waters. She built on her assistant duties by securing cover stories for various clients. Her bravado, strong work ethic and wide-ranging taste in music—you don’t have to explain The Selecter or Mogwai to her—has served the company well.”
While attending California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, DIANA began her career in publicity as an intern at the Los Angeles-based Fly PR. Upon completing her Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations in the Spring of 2005, DIANA became public relations assistant at Fly PR. She worked with a variety of clients including David Thomas, Unknown Instructors, The Black Halos, and Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. One of the personal highlights of DIANA’s career was working with singer-songwriter Mike Park on the 2004 PLEA FOR PEACE (PFP) tour. The 501C3 non-profit organization aims to promote peace and unity through the power of music with annual tours and numerous compilation records (online at: www.PleaForPeace.com)
