As “The New 88.5 FM” continues to celebrate its expansion from Santa Clarita to San Clemente, the station has announced a new partnership with MSO PR. MSO will work with teams at California State University, Northridge and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo as the station continues to build the brand’s expansion.
Under the tutelage of KCSN General Manager and Program Director SkyDaniels (recently named one of the Top Ten “Most Influential” rock radio program directors in the U.S. by Billboard) and KSBR-FM Director of Broadcast Operations Jim Rondeau, broadcasting will continue from both campuses’ studios in Northridge and Mission Viejo, as well as a remote studio at The Village at Westfield Topanga. The station is also streaming online at www.885fm.org. As of September 12, the combined signal reach of KCSN-FM and KSBR-FM became available throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties and parts of Ventura County, providing a single station of programming to a potential audience of 11.5 million listeners, a huge boost from the two stations’ previous combined reach of 2 million.
Sky Daniels stated, “88.5 FM is partnership born of the recognition that performing musicians are in dire need of meaningful support in artist development. Both CSUN and Saddleback College are committed to providing a platform that will offer new, local, and legendary artists exposure over the air and in live concert presentations. 88.5 FM’s mission is to support musicians. MSO has excelled in that mission for decades.”
Jim Rondeau furthers the sentiment: “88.5 FM embodies the independent spirit at the heart of all great radio stations. Southern California deserves a station with the freedom to take risks, innovate and provide listeners a truly unique experience. Through our on-air and digital assets, we’re building the nation’s largest community of music lovers.”
“The publicity team at MSO is excited to join forces with 88.5 FM and bring new opportunities that will keep moving the station forward,” says Mitch Schneider, President of MSO. “Both the teams at California State University, Northridge and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo are known for bringing their good musical tastes to audiences, so we are truly honored to be involved.”
