MURS 3:16 IN ASSOCIATION WITH GUERILLA UNION PRESENT
“PAID DUES” SATURDAY, MARCH 11
AT THE SAN BERNARDINO ORANGE SHOW PAVILLION;
AN INDEPENDENT HIP-HOP FESTIVAL FEATURING THE FIRST-EVER LIVE PERFORMANCE FROM FELT (MURS OF LIVING LEGENDS W/ SLUG & ANT OF ATMOSPHERE), AESOP ROCK, LIVING LEGENDS, EL-P AND MORE
One of the greatest talents in underground hip-hop today, MURS 3:16 in association with Guerilla Union will present PAID DUES, a brand new urban event on Saturday, March 11 at the National Orange Show Pavillion in San Bernardino , CA. This is the first-ever event of its kind as Murs takes his first foray into a festival setting with billing that includes talents like Felt, Aesop Rock, Living Legends, EL-P and more.
“After going on the Vans Warped Tour a few years back, I thought it would be great to do something similar for our fans–something outdoors during the day and at a great price, making it a refreshing change for our die-hard fans who are used to seeing us in the dark dank nightclubs,“ says Murs. “At the same time, it’s a great and inexpensive introduction to live hip hop for the young fans.” PAID DUES also corresponds with the release of Murs’ new album Murray’s Revengeon Definitive Jux March 21.
The complete line-up for PAID DUES features the debut live performance from FELT (MURS [Living Legends] w/ SLUG & ANT [Atmosphere]), AESOP ROCK, LIVING LEGENDS, EL-P, BROTHER ALI, CAGE, GROUCH, BLUEPRINT, 3MG, 2 MEX and CHINGO BLING along with DJ RHETTMATIC & MR.DIBBS.
Partnering with Murs on this great independent project is a gleaming example of Guerilla Union’s commitment to supporting artists in developing new and better platforms of exposure, building upon past events like the Cypress Hill Smoke Out, Rock The Bells, Moto Music Mahyem and the upcoming Festival of the 36 Chambers with RZA in fall 2006. “MURS has been an amazing partner. He’s put together a line-up and atmosphere that he supports and loves,” states Guerilla Union’s Chang Weisberg. “We’re happy to join forces and help create new platforms of exposure for the ultimate Hip Hop live experience. Perry Farrell, Beastie Boys and Cypress Hill have paved the way for artists like MURS to express and create their own live music experience.”
PAID DUES is an all-ages show. Doors open at 4:00 pm and the festival ends at midnight. Tickets go on sale Friday, January 27 for $25.00; On Monday, January 30 tickets become $30; and will be $35.00 at the door day of show. Also available are $85 PAID DUES Limited VIP tickets.
