This past weekend, Friday, March 4, Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, over 11,000 tattoo & music enthusiasts descended on the OC Fair & Event Center for the fourth annual MUSINK Tattoo Convention & Music Festival, drawing the festival its largest attendance numbers in the past two years.Orange County’s premiere Tattoo Convention and Music Festival encompasses tattoo culture, lifestyle and great music.
“It’s exciting to see the festival continue to expand and grow; at MUSINK attendees and exhibitors come together from every race and socio-economic status across the world,” explains MUSINK founder Bill Hardie. “Tattoos & music have a strong underlying and personal passion at their core. Both require a level of commitment and are not taken lightly by the individual as an expression of their personal style outside of mainstream corporate culture.”
The unique tattoo convention and music festival kicked off with a series of powerful rock performances from Suicidal Tendencies, Biohazard, CKY, Circa Survive, Thrice, Hot Water Music and The Used headlining with five local acts offering support. Over 300 tattoo artists from around the world took appointments from fans and displayed their wares over the three-day extravaganza. New for this year, a skating concourse abounded the festival grounds with Active Ride Shop team riders Brian Hansen aka Slash, Figgy, Collin Provost, The Nuge, Theoitis, Beasley, Jordan Hoffart, Anthony Schultz and more skating alongside brave amateurs. Other fun events included daily tattoo contests, live performance art shows from the tattoo artists, the Sullen Angel “Miss Musink” contest, a custom motorcycle show and more.
