NEWS FROM THE ROAD: AEROSMITH'S roof-raising show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last night (2/22/06) brought out lots of celebs including John Fogerty, Eddie Furlong, Perry Farrell, Lara Flynn Boyle and Velvet Revolver's Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. At the end of the show, STEVEN TYLER, JOE PERRY, TOM HAMILTON and JOEY KRAMER brought out a cake for guitarist BRAD WHITFORD, with the crowd singing “Happy Birthday” to celebrate today’s occasion. Meanwhile, VR's Slash was on hand at AEROSMITH's show Saturday, February 18 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as part of their arena tour with Lenny Kravitz. For their classic cover of the Beatles song "Come Together," Aerosmith invited Lenny onstage. Tyler and he magically traded vocal lines as the crowd wildly cheered them on. Before the Vegas show, Aerosmith chatted with Joe Esposito, known as Elvis Presley's number one aide and road manager from 1960-1977. Just as Esposito was known to walk Elvis from his dressing room to the stage for every show, he offered to do the same for Aerosmith, taking Steven and Joe down the long hallway to the stage. Tyler and Perry were absolutely blown away by Joe's graciousness–and it kicked their performance into an even higher gear. AEROSMITH's tour with Lenny concludes this Friday, February 24 at the Pond in Anaheim and then the band kicks off another leg of their "Rockin' The Joint" trek (beginning March 2 in Miami), this time with Cheap Trick on the bill.
