U.S. RELEASE OF DEBUT ALBUM CONFIRMED FOR MARCH 29
“Moody, atmospheric rock that wouldn’t be out of place alongside Brit-pop-style bands Steadman and South.”
–Kevin Bronson, LOS ANGELES TIMES, (3/15/04)
“The art of Oslo’s atmospheric rock relies on the science of blending soft harmonies with warm synthesizer pads, alternative guitar riffs and heart-thumping drumbeats. Oslo’s focus is a warm, collectively orchestrated sound.”
–Richard Frias, MUSIC CONNECTION, (3/28/04)
OSLO has just completed the finishing touches on their self-titled and self-produced debut album, due out March 29 on FKE Records (distributed via Majestic Recording Inc). With their subtly poignant anthems and haunting guitar soundscapes, the group have built a loyal fanbase on the West Coast.
The Los Angeles-based OSLO–MATTIA BORRANI (lead vocals, guitar), GABRIAL MCNAIR (lead guitar, backing vocals) and KERRY WAYNE JAMES (bass)–have received a strong welcome with their moody first single “Minutegun” on Indie 103.1 in Los Angeles, which has considerably increased the band’s fanbase in the city. Other standout tracks include: disc opener “The Stranger,” where BORRANI’s soul-baring vocals and falsetto-capped delivery awaken an evocative night-drive ballad; and the stunning “Starlight,” highlighted by MCNAIR’s liquid guitar-playing and angelic backing vocals.
The complete track listing is as follows:
1. The Stranger
2. My Soul
5. For All It’s Worth
8. One Last Fling
