ART GARFUNKEL SET TO PERFORM BENEFIT CONCERT AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE JULY 2
HOSTED BY THE DUKE OF YORK;
PERFORMANCES IN PAKISTAN, INDIA, CHINA & OTHERS BEING SET FOR THIS FALL
ART GARFUNKEL–taking a break from recording sessions for a new CD–will perform a special concert Sunday, July 2 at Buckingham Palace in London. ART has been invited to perform in front of esteemed guests and royalty at a benefit for NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). A special tennis match at the event-to be broadcast live by BBC Grandstand–will feature a rematch of Wimbledon foes Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe as well as matches including Anna Kournikova and Henri Leconte. His Royal Highness The Duke of York is hosting the event.
In other concert news, ART continues to add shows to his already busy touring schedule (he logged 70 shows in ’99). Performances are now being confirmed for such exotic locations as Pakistan, India, China, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates. These shows are scheduled to kick off after ART wraps up a string of American concerts September 30 in Ft. Wayne, IN.
