STEVEN TYLER
TO KICK OFF 2004 WORLD SERIES WITH NATIONAL ANTHEM
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23 IN BOSTON
Who better to sing the national anthem at the kickoff of the 2004 World Series than Boston’s own STEVEN TYLER? The AEROSMITH frontman will perform the “Star Spangled Banner” in front of a nationwide television audience of over 20 million people as well as more than 36,000 Boston Red Sox fans Saturday night (10/23) at Fenway Park.
TYLER got the invitation late Wednesday night from Red Sox owner John Henry after the team completed their remarkable come-from-behind win over the Yankees. “I’ve been a fan all my life, and to be able to go out and sing the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ for my team and baseball fans around the world is a huge thrill,” says the singer. “It’s been an amazing year for the Sox and I can’t wait to show the world how we do it in Boston.”
TYLER has previously performed the national anthem at Red Sox and New England Patriots games and the Indianapolis 500.
