CONFIRM FALL TOUR DATES INCLUDING SHOW AT
AUSTIN CITY LIMITS MUSIC FESTIVAL
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND have announced dates for their fall U.S. tour which kicks off next week in York, PA and runs through October 2. Although Lynyrd Skynyrd had to cancel a number of co-headlining shows, the Allman Brothers Band will continue on with their tour, with moe. now replacing them. Other openers on the three-week trek include Lucinda Williams and Antigone Rising. They have also been invited to perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on September 23 alongside such acts as Oasis, Widespread Panic, Coldplay, Wilco and many others.
THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND–GREGG ALLMAN (vocals and keyboards), BUTCH TRUCKS (drums and tympani), JAIMOE (drums), WARREN HAYNES (vocals, lead and slide guitar), DEREK TRUCKS (slide and lead guitar), OTEIL BURBRIDGE (bass) and MARC QUINONES (congas and percussion)–have been on the road essentially non-stop since their sold-out 10-night stand at the Beacon Theatre in New York in March. In a recent live review, Mark Bialczak of the Syracuse Post said, “Even somebody fortunate enough to see 100 or so bands annually experiences an oh-my-god concert moment once every couple of years. The Allman Brothers Band raised goose bumps with a tingling performance…[they] delivered a soulful version of ‘Into the Mystic’ that would have made Irish superstar Van Morrison himself proud” (8/28/05).
