PRESSURE 4-5
OUT ON MTV TOUR WITH ALIEN ANT FARM;
DATES WITH HOOBASTANK TO FOLLOW
“BEAT THE WORLD” IMPACTING MTV, MTV2 AND ACTIVE/MODERN ROCK RADIO
As their “Beat The World” video is receiving spins on MTV and MTV2, PRESSURE 4-5 are bringing the emotional heavy rock tunes from their newly released DreamWorks debut album BURNING THE PROCESS to audiences nationwide with labelmates Alien Ant Farm.
The MTV-sponsored club tour kicked off October 1 in Tucson, AZ and will wrap November 18 in Dallas, TX. This trek will segue into a leg of dates for PRESSURE 4-5 with Hoobastank beginning in December.
No strangers to the road, PRESSURE 4-5 toured steadily throughout the summer on Ozzfest, including a brief stint with Taproot. Since then, the Santa Barbara-based group have been winning over fans and critics alike with their distinguished fusion of hard rock fury, vocal passion and thought-provoking lyricism.
“This is solid, textured hard rock,” says Roberto Hernandez of Southern California’s Mean Street (October), citing the band’s “sense of melodic dynamics.” David Simutis of HITS (10/12/01) adds: “The debut of this Santa Barbara-based band burns with enough hard-rock intensity to send an arena of wrestling fans into a pyrotechnic frenzy…Though plenty melodic, the album is packed with aggression, with the quintet building pressure on frenetic guitar riffs and slab-like basslines.”
“Beat The World,” the first single off BURNING THE PROCESS, is currently impacting active and modern rock radio nationwide. Composed in the wake of the sudden death of frontman ADAM RICH‘s best friend, the track “started out as personal writing and eventually turned into a song,” RICH explains. “I wanted to write about this event in a way that was more uplifting than ‘fuck it all, fuck the world’ kind of angst. We all know the world is a fucked-up place, but you can’t just turn your back on it. You’ve got to work with what you have, overcome it and be a better person for it.”
Meanwhile, the group’s Marc Webb-directed video for “Beat The World” is currently in rotation on MTV and MTV2. PRESSURE 4-5‘s live performances in Colorado (10/12 and 10/13) were also taped for use in a forthcoming special to air on MTV in November (exact dates TBA). The program will also be shown on MTV2–as part of the channel’s “Spanking New” month–on November 10 and 11 at 10pm and again on November 12 at midnight. Catch PRESSURE 4-5—RICH(vocals), MARK BARRY and JOE SCHMIDT (guitars), LYLE MCKEANY (bass) and TOM SCHMIDT (drums)–out on the road in the following cities.
